REACHE members, with support from University of Minnesota's Lloyd A. Wilford Endowment, built a new bridge over the Nyando River at the base of Kapurtay Hill, Kisumu County, Kenya. The old bridge (see below) was barely passable and a danger to both community members and researchers. With a new bridge in place, excavation commenced in the Lower Kapurtay Agglomerates resulting in dozens of new fossil mammals including cranial remains of Rangwapithecus.
REACHE project member Kieran McNulty was invited to participate in the Ross Institute Summer Academy as a keynote speaker during Founder's Week. His talk on human evolution and the emergence on non-sustainable behaviors was one of several given by international scholars. Watch an excerpt here.
